The Altair figurine included in the first Assassin’s Creed limited edition was a good reason for both of us to buy our own copies. The sequel had two content wise different special editions available; the reviewed Black Edition and the simpler White Edition.

You can take a look at the Ezio figurine by folding the front of the black collectible packaging, decorated with the game’s logo and renaissance art; the inner side of the box is also covered with stunning images. Black Edition’s 20cm tall Ezio statue is more detailed than its white twin, but looks really weird next to the 25cm high Altair figurine on the collector’s shelf.

Included 64-page leatherette covered Conspiracy Book holds artwork of in-game locations, characters and weapons. The bonus DVD (not Blu-Ray) comes in a simple paper sleeve, containing wallpapers, developer videos and music from the Italian cities.

The finest materials used for this release makes it highly recommended for all the fans. WE think an included Steelbook instead of a normal edition game would have made the Black Edition perfect, but even without it it’s still one of the best collector’s items.
