WE expected Mass Effect 2 collector’s edition to be as good as the first episode’s Limited Edition. They have almost the same contents, but the thick metal case was exchanged for a plain Steelbook and instead of a thin art book now we can look at a hard-covered one.
The protective slip case keeps the contents safe from damage and scratches. The Steelbook holds two game discs and one bonus disc full of development videos. It’s surface is matte, but the printed in-game characters on the front and back have a glossy effect.
All other contents of the package are held in a folded paper sleeve which is sticked together with the Cerberus Network Membership card. The credit card sized piece of plastic has a code on the back to unclock in-game weapons, armor and gain access to other downloadable contents. One comic book and a 48-page hard-covered art book is also part of the collector’s edition; both of them are printed on glossy paper. WE really liked the original Mass Effect’s Limited Collector’s Edition. It’s highly recommended to buy this release, because the overall quality is extraordinary.
